Become a Foster Parent
All children need unconditional love and support. By becoming a foster parent, you provide temporary care to children who are unable to live with their families. As a foster parent, your love, compassion, and nurturing will help them feel safe and build a foundation for trust.
If you have a big heart and a desire to care for children, call us at (917) 645-9157 to inquire about coming to one of our orientation meetings to learn all about the process. You can also fill out this initial inquiry form.
Who are the children in foster care?
Children who enter foster care range from birth to teenagers. They come from different backgrounds. Many of the children have experienced trauma and some have emotional, behavioral and/or medical needs. We especially need caring foster parents for:
- Sibling groups
- Teen moms and their babies
- Children who are lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender or questioning their sexual orientation
