May 2023- On Wednesday, May 24, Cardinal Timothy Dolan visited Saint Dominic’s Family Services Blauvelt Campus. He toured and visited with students and staff at our Therapeutic K-12 Day School. The Bulldog Drumline with Ms. Debbie performed a special concert for Cardinal Dolan. The Cardinal jammed with the students too!
May 2023- On May 25, 2023, Saint Dominics Family Services hosted a Campus Tour for supporters of the Friends of Saint Dominic’s (FOSD). FOSD is the main fundraising arm for the agency, and we are always grateful for their ongoing commitment.
May 2023- Twice a year, the Office of Family Permanency Services at the Administration of Children’s Services (ACS), recognizes the excellent work foster care staff are doing to help New York City’s children and families.
Juan Trejos has been nominated for an Excellence in Practice Award due to his outstanding commitment and advocacy for the children, youth and families in Saint Dominic’s Family Foster Care Program.
Mr. Trejos began his career with us 4 and a half years ago as a Discharge Specialist. However, he has morphed into a ‘Jack of All Trades’ within the program. While his main role has been to support children, youth and families on their road to reunification, he has also become a valuable resource within the program, often lending his time to our Case Planning, PYA, Education and Adoption staff.
Mr. Trejos embodies the Saint Dominic’s mission of empowering children, adults, and families facing challenges to thrive in their communities by addressing their needs with compassion, dignity and care.
There will be a virtual celebration on 6/1/23 at 2PM.
April 2023- Adriana Hernandez, a caseworker in our Family Foster Care Dept., has been named a recipient for a 2023 Jim Purcell Excellence Award by the COFCCA (Council of Family and Child Caring Agencies). The award is given to staff of member agencies who display excellence and professionalism in their jobs. Adriana will be honored in a virtual ceremony on April 24, at 2:00 p.m.
February 2023- National Wear Red Day is a day to unite millions of people to raise awareness for the common goal of eradicating heart disease and strokes.
