As we celebrate National Adoption month, we are proud to announce that we have reunified 22 children this year with their birth parents or relatives. The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) had set our goal at eleven children and we are thrilled to have exceeded it by 100%.
At Saint Dominic’s Family Services, our objective is to find permanency for a child with their birth parents or relatives. When we cannot, we look towards those parents willing to adopt and give a child renewed hope for a positive future. We want the child, whether with birth or adopted parents, to have the most fulfilling life possible. Adoptive families are equally important to our children as they create the foundation that these children could not find with their biological families.
These children and youth have been supported through intervention and counseling by Saint Dominic’s Family Services for up to 12 months. We recognize that many of the children placed in our care, and the families we serve have experienced intense trauma. We are here to support and guide these individuals through this difficult time.
It is critical that these children are placed in a permanent home where that are loved and nurtured. Until then, our Family Foster Care Program provides a child with a safe loving environment that promotes growth and development and enables the child to maximize their fullest potential.
