May 25, 2020 by Janella Eccleston

“The continued support of the business and labor industry has truly been critical to our organization,” says Judy Kydon, President & CEO of Saint Dominic’s. “With their generous support, we are able to help keep it children safe from abuse and neglect and enable children and adults with mental health and developmental challenges to live fulfilling, independent lives.”

On Jan. 31, 2020 over 1,350 leaders of New York City’s business and labor industry came together to celebrate and raise money for aSaint Dominic’s Family Services. Hosted by guest emcee, WABC meteorologist Amy Freeze, the dinner raised over $1.6 million.

Hosted by the Friends of Saint Dominic’s, the organization’s foundation arm, the dinner also honored three industry leaders who have especially made a difference to the Saint Dominic’s community.

“I continue to be amazed, impressed, and thankful that the real estate and construction industry comes out to support this important cause year after year,” says Eugene Peter White, dinner chairman of the Friends of Saint Dominic’s. “It’s incredible that this community topped our fundraising goal yet again.”

This year marked 39 years of hosting this fundraising dinner. Since 1995 the dinner has raised over $26.6 million.

Elizabeth Reilly, (Front row, right) Vice President of Construction at Boston Properties, received the Eileen Marie White Community Award, which is presented annually to a woman who continues to honor the tradition of female leadership in community service.
Michael Cavanaugh, (Second from left) Chairman, CCA Metro and Vice President, New York City District Council of Carpenters, was presented with the Francis J.P. McHale Memorial Award for a professional whose life is distinguished by the qualities that identified Frank McHale: professionalism, personal integrity and generosity to those less fortunate in our society.
Jonathan Andrew, (M) Managing Director & Board Member at Gardiner & Theobald, received the Victory Award, which honors an outstanding leader whose commitment to those whose lives have been overshadowed and limited by misfortune has stood as a model of accomplishment, love, and charity.
